History Redefined. Artistry Reimagined. Story RetoldNext section
Newry Street is a boutique collection of 12 contemporary, design-focused townhouses in a charming, leafy pocket of Richmond.
This coveted area is home to an eclectic architectural mix that includes some of the oldest homes in Melbourne, converted warehouses and charming Victorian terraces. Designed by the talented and dynamic architectural studio, Fieldwork, the stunning three and four storey townhouses of Newry Street herald a new architectural chapter for a suburb rich in history.
Relax in a private sanctuary
Each home features a generous rooftop space, most with unobstructed, vistas over leafy Richmond and stunning panoramic views of the city. Accessed via a dedicated external stair, this private oasis with a timber deck and a built-in barbecue is the perfect space to enjoy breakfast outdoors or an evening meal with friends. On the level below, the balcony offers views of neighbourhood scenes, with protection from the elements allowing residents to enjoy fresh air in all seasons. Large, glazed sliding doors create a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor living spaces with plenty of room to entertain in style.
A balance of light and space
Inside, bright and airy spaces enjoy natural light streaming in from large windows and doors which open to views of Richmond. These finely detailed and inviting spaces feature engineered oak timber floors complementing a palette of muted colour tones. Design details such as dark porcelain tiling on the splashbacks in the kitchen create a bold accent against the warm timber, with the stainless steel bench and feature pendant light bringing a sense of sophistication and luxury to everyday living.
Each Newry Street kitchen includes a fully integrated Miele fridge and freezer alongside a range of Miele appliances.
Each master bedroom also incorporates feature wall lights, a refined material palette, luxurious woollen carpets and the potential to upgrade to a versatile LEMA wardrobe and shelving system. The Newry Street bathrooms are chic and functional spaces featuring Rogerseller tapware plus generous storage in the mirror cabinet adjacent to the large, walk in shower.
Ten of the Newry Street townhouses also include underground carparking in a state-of-the-art, invisible pit car stacker system.
A morning walk to the local café takes you past 150 years of architectural styles and the timeless serenity of the Yarra River. Newry Street puts you on the doorstep of a suburb of diverse attractions, culture and amenities. Ease of accessibility is key, with this address boasting a walk score of 91, which is described as a ‘Walker’s Paradise’. A tramline, just 300m from Newry Street, also takes residents along bustling Swan Street, into the city or out to Camberwell Junction.
Riverside parklands are every bit as close as the eclectic dining options to be found on Bridge Road and Swan Street. A vast array of retailers caters to every whim, and a comprehensive road and public transport network offers easy access to all points of Greater Melbourne.
Fieldwork – Architecture
Established in 2013, Fieldwork is a young and dynamic architecture practice. Through creative yet systematic solutions, the built environment can be optimized for both functionality and enjoyment. We truly believe in the value of good design and we take great care in translating beauty and functionality into our projects. Our design process starts with sound definition and analysis of the relevant questions. It ends when we find the optimal resolutions through space, form and shape.
